As an Intended Father Surrogacy is scary.
Well I suppose that if you asked any man he would tell you that becoming a father is scary.
However, the Surrogacy experience is inherently uncertain, complex and stressful.
No single book, website, or message board can contain every facet or nuance you could ever need or want to know about Surrogacy. And if it did, you would get so bogged down in the details, you wouldn’t be able to act. I know because I tried to read and understand everything about the process myself before finally saying “let’s just move forward.”
For the longest time, I was a reader and not a doer. There was so many things to learn that I was paralyzed and couldn’t make a decision. I wanted to create a website that will inspire you to become a doer. The idea is to break the Surrogacy process down and make it less complicated and introduce you to the Surrogates, Intended Parents, and professionals in the field that can serve as your mentors providing real world personal experiences.
In the interest of not giving you information overload where you don’t know what to act on today and what to put aside for later, Team Surrogacy gives you a guide through each stage of the process.
We explain how to use the Power of Teamwork and Shared Leadership to make things happen for you. It is impossible for one person to be an expert on every aspect of Surrogacy. It requires advanced knowledge on a multitude of medical and legal issues. A few of them are Psychology, Psychiatry, Biology, Embryology, Reproductive Endocrinolgy, Phlebolgy, State Law, Family Law, and Contract Law.
As the Intended Parent It’s your job to build your Surrogacy team. To make your plan so that you are working with the right expert for your needs at the right time. For many of you, this information will be what you need to confidently move forward with the process.
The most challenging part of Surrogacy is starting with the right attitude. So many of us get to this place through negative events.
We convince ourselves that reading endless books and websites is research and education that will be prepare us for the experience, but really it’s just procrastination because you’re scared of moving forward.
You’ll need to get over that mindset.
No matter how much you prepare in advance, you will make mistakes. I have, and so has everyone else that’s gone before you. You can’t let the fear paralyze you and keep you from the baby that you’ve been dreaming of for years.
Your goal of being a family.
This website is the result of my own education and experiences about becoming a parent through Surrogacy and it is enhanced by the contribution of many members from the Surrogacy Community that are graciously sharing their experience with us.
Welcome to Team Surrogacy.
